Sleeping in a historic site…
In the heart of the D-Day landing beaches lies the Fief Pelloquin, named after its former owner.
This 18th-century ensemble comprises the château and barns.
All that remained of the barns were the walls.
Marie-Caroline decided to give them a second life by renovating everything from floor to ceiling.
In 1944, the Pelloquin estate was transformed into a field hospital for soldiers and civilians.
A few temporary graves remain from the Allied landings, a memory kept alive by the persistence of rosebushes planted in 1945, carefully preserved by the current owner.
